Beauty Within...
Feeling like God is wanting to remind us of the beauty in our hearts lately.
I've been so focused on self-image lately and it has been a topic deep in my heart. It came to surface that it is something that can be so hidden as I find myself remembering all the times where I've been consumed in Satan's lies of my identity and beauty, yet I have just been convicted of it a burden on my relationship with God.
This past 2 weeks bible verses and song lyrics have been floating in my mind and I've taken notice that they are all about beauty within and what beauty really is. So as an encouragement to all of yous especially those who are struggling with this as well, You are beautiful. Seriously... YOU are BEAUTIFUL.
In 1 Peter 3:3-4 it says "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather it should be that your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." Find your beauty within, and you'll be filled with "Strength and Dignity" -Proverbs 31:25.
Here's a song to encourage you with!

Hello Hailey,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Raymond Billy. I work in the communications department at Port YWAM Kona in Hawaii. I am contacting you because I saw that you have experience working as a barista and have completed a DTS. I wanted to alert you to a new opportunity to use your barista experience in ministry.
Port YWAM Kona is starting a new café at our campus in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. It will be a platform for us to bless other YWAMers, but also reach out to the local community and hopefully minister the Gospel. We have a wonderful couple, Jeremy and Havilah Pyrc, pioneering the coffee shop and they need well-trained people to come under their leadership to get it going the right way. Would you pray about applying to be part of the team?
The café will most likely be open by 2018. In the meantime, I would like you to pray about coming on staff, serving in the Port YWAM kitchen for a few quarters and get to know Jeremy and Havilah while you all pray in the resources to build the coffee shop. The kitchen crew simply prepares break-time snack for the campus and lunch. You'd be working with a fun group of people in the kitchen and it's actually a relatively laid-back job because most of our food comes already prepared from Cosco. We just need the kitchen crew to arrange it in a presentable manner. And, if we build a big enough team, there would be opportunities to rotate out of the café/kitchen and do other things that might be on your heart, such as staffing DTS.
Living expenses at Port YWAM are very cheap by Hawaii standards. Staff pay $400 per month to live on our campus, which includes breakfast and lunch. A plate of food at dinner is $2.
Below, I have attached a volunteer application along with a link to tell you more about our ministry and the Kona location. Please pray about this opportunity.
